-- Registration of Establishment--

General Instructions

As per provisions of Sec. 4 of the Odisha Shops & Commercial Establishments Act, 1956, the employer of any shop or commercial establishment located within Municipal Corporation area / Municipality area / NAC area and engaging one or more employee(s) has to apply for registration of the establishment within 30 days from its commencement.

The District Labour Officers and Assistant Labour Officers are declared as Inspectors under the said Act to grant registration.Based on the geographical location, the application will be routed to the concerned District Labour Officer/ Assistant labour officer.

Checklist of documents to be uploaded (Only png, jpg, pdf is supported and maximum file size of 4 MB is allowed)

1. Identification document (House rent agreement/ Electricity bill/ Trade licence) *

2. Photo of odia signboard *

3. Signature of applicant *

Fee calculation

Fill in the form. After the form is successfully saved, the applicant can pay the required fee.

• Fee is calculated based on the number of workers employed.

• A fee of 50% in excess of the fees payable for registration shall be payable after gap of every five year.

-- Amendment of RC--

General Instructions

As per provisions of Sec. 4 of the Odisha Shops & Commercial Establishments Act, 1956, the employer of any shop or commercial establishment located within Municipal Corporation area / Municipality area / NAC area and engaging one or more employee(s) has to apply for registration of the establishment within 30 days from its commencement.

The District Labour Officers and Assistant Labour Officers are declared as Inspectors under the said Act to grant registration. Based on the geographical location, the application will be routed to the concerned District Labour Officer/ Assistant labour officer.

The employer who desires to have registration certificate amended shall make an application stating the nature of amendment required and reasons thereof along with application.

1. Amendment related document

(i). Ownership transfer-Id proof of new owner (Pan Card/Aadhaar) *

(ii). Address change- Electricity bills / House rent agreement of new house*

(iii). Name change - Photo of odia signboard *

2. Signature of applicant*

3. Signature of the new owner in case of ownership transfer*

Timeline

Amendment of registration certificate of an establishment under the Odisha Shops & Commercial Establishments Act, 1956 is granted within 15 working days from the date of submission of application. The Department may raise query within 7 days. Timeline will resume on receipt of query compliance.
